A Cliffside Proposal at Half Moon Bay

Few places along the Northern California coast feel as cinematic as Half Moon Bay. Perched above the Pacific Ocean, the cliffs surrounding the Ritz Carlton offer sweeping views of waves crashing far below. It was here that one unforgettable proposal took place.

Let's rewind... Jonny reached out to me to capture his proposal before the ring was even ready. This moment was to be epic but he needed a little gentle guidance to bring it to the next level. Several brainstorm text messages back and forth and we decided on Halfmoon Bay as THE location. Due to the element of secrecy surrounding this moment I suggested we meet in person a week prior to pick the exact spot it would all go down. The last thing I wanted was for any miscommunication the resulted in less than iconic delivery. We devised a plan! I was going to be the hostess at the Ritz-Carlton via phone to confirm or delay their "dinner reservation". This would be code on if I was in place or needed more time before they started their walk.

He led her toward the edge of the cliffs overlooking the coastline but first had to persuade the golfers to pause their putts. He did so quietly and the proposal was on! Moments later he dropped to one knee and waited for what felt like an eternity until she turned around and realized what was happening.

After she said yes I popped up from my hiding place and congratulated them. Her shock was endearing and the wind carried the sound of celebration ocean across the cliffs.
